CJ7 stroker options

Post by mrtappan »

Getting to the end of build. About the put the driveline back in.

Using a 84 CJ7 frame with a 1996 4.0 block for the stroker. I have an ODBI setup from a 1993-ish 4.0 that I plan to use. I have a 1993 flywheel but what clutch should I go with to mate it to a T5? The T5 is the original five speed that was in the CJ7 when I purchased it.

Also, which motor mounts would fit the 4.0 into the Cj7 frame? Old 4.2 mounts? Newer 4.0 mounts?

My 80 amc spirit was born with a 4.2, the 4.0/4.7 bolts in with original 4.2 mounts. It's currently running a 4.0 with an OBD1 setup, I can post a bit more info on my wiring when I'm home tonite if you want

Not quite to that point yet with wiring in the FI system. Just getting to the point where I need to stab the driveline in the chassis. One problem at a a time. Slow and steady. Godd to know I can use those mounts though. I saved my original 4.2 mounts " just in case i needed them? and I dont regret it now.
