Wow, I don’t even know where to start.
Most of your complaints seem to be based around the Crankshaft.
So let’s start there. I carry two brands of crankshafts. Scat and Promaxx. Both Crankshaft’s have their pros and cons which I have openly discussed with both manufactures. After all this is how you improve products.
After discussing it with you we went with Promaxx partially due to the fact that you were bashing Scat. Both Crankshaft currently sell for $585.00 that come balanced to a factory spec/tolerance.
If you would like to have it re-balanced that’ll add another $150.00 which gets you to your second complaint and misrepresentation and lie on your part.
Due to the economics of manufacturing, unfortunately
many of our parts are coming from overseas specifically from China and in both cases that holds true for our Jeep crankshafts from both Scat and Promaxx. When these parts are shipped overseas in cargo containers they are covered with rust prohibitors such as cosmoline.
In order to send my crankshaft to my balancer (somebody that I’ve been using for over 20 years and he’s been doing precision Balancing for 47 years) I have to do my do my best to remove this coating and provide him with a oil free crankshaft as possible with the limiting factors because of my over regulated state of California will only allow water base cleaners. Each Crankshaft that goes to balance is in my vertical parts washer for a minimum of an hour and immediately is blown off with pressurized clean hot water and blown off with an air hose. Because the cast crankshaft is porous, there might be some but limited rust spots that you have pictured.
After Balancing the Crankshaft is micro polished and is left with a better finish than prior to cleaning.
The second part of your misrepresentation is what you call “Mold” is part of the leftover caustic residue that in some cases in found in inside sections of the counterweight which doesn’t receive maximum pressure from my cleaning machine. It’s understood by most that two of the parts in my kit require cleaning before assembly. The Crankshaft and the connecting rods.
You also seem to be obsessed by your Crankshaft not being in a box when I securely placed in your carpeted trunk surrounded by your other parts. In my last email to you I explained that the Crankshaft’s that I get from Promaxx come on a pallet. They are obviously individually boxed but are boxed from China and if anybody has seen the quality of boxes coming from China in which the boxes are typically damaged from shipping specially when the Crankshafts are stacked on top of one another.
Lastly 2 representatives of two of the manufactures involved in the parts in your kit called me after hours (one of them being the owner of the company) and said “Where did you find this guy?”
and not surprisingly shared with me how are you are phone and email stalking them considering an example of an email you sent me “I’m going to Burn you down Mother#ucker” that isn’t surprising.
With that this concludes our dialogue.

I've read this thread. I've looked at the photos. I've also seen these crankshafts before and I even know the person that does the
balancing for Russ. First of all, What you see as mold is not mold at all, but soap residue from a jet washing machine. Second, In
my life, I've seen many, many crankshafts and other auto related parts (especially castings) that have spots on them that look like
rust. Castings have more porosity than forgings and therefore hold more moisture in the manufacturing process. A lot of the
solutions for today are water base liquid. Remember, petroleum preservatives have a tendency to stay above the moisture (Kinda
like crude oil in the ocean). Third, Like I said before, I know the guy that does the balancing for Russ and he will tell you, that just
like balancing a tire, different people have varied tolerances. This guy has the reputation of being exceptionally picky about what
he does. If there is deflection, he corrects it. I hope this helps you in your quest for a good motor. Also, I know that Russ has been
in this business for a very long time and the people I know will tell you he's a good, well respected guy.

I have no reason to disbelieve you. Why did rust moldinger NOT tell me this when I asked him about it and why did Steve at promaxxipad tell me that he sees it all the time? Look dude I put myself at the mercy of these people. pay them the money and then things change instantaneously. I requested a refund several days ago and have not heard back.
rust can spin it any way he wants, but he sold me on his pistons and his process and the pistons weren't available and his process changed quite a bit from first contact to last.
I'm trying to proceed with confidence, but when people aren't forthright and lie about things that don't need to be lied about then I come out of my shell. Ripped me off as far as I'm concerned and was rude to my wife on top of it all. Paul Harvey, Good day!

Why no box rust? "That's how I get them". NOT TRUE=LIE. How do I forget that and trust this person? Why not just tell me why no box? Why is this person not breaking his ass to make it right? I owned a business for 30 years, never would I have EVER stuck a client like this. My word is my bond and I take great pride in honesty and integrity. I did my part. rust was offended when my Wife called me to review the order. It's creepy. Not acceptable from a person who was just handed $2746 cash. Who accepts this? Not I...

I paid premium pricing and got dollar tree service. I went with every thing rust told me. Even when he dropped, not having the high speed kickass custom pistons that were the main selling point, on me. I went with it. Then ol' rust gets sketchy with my wife, I heard it through the phone and let it go for the sake of just moving forward, and then he lies about the box, and then he blows off my refund request. Pretty damn basic stuff here...

As far as promaxxipad goes, I asked one thing of them. Please give me information on this crank. It came to me unboxed, no paperwork, no decipherable markings, and moldy and rusty. They would not even provide the most basic information beyond claiming it as their casting and that they ship them IN A BOX. The owner Jason collins, sent me 10-15 emails without a single piece of useable information. I just wanted to cross reference the castings with anything that they had and they could not pull this off. So lame! Quadratec has more info about the crank, but their fitment search engine says that it doesn't work for my vehicle, which only ads to problem. So fucking shoot me for wanting info and answers. Our country is dying people and this is definitely part of it. No pride, no honor, no accountability. Just a bunch of cannibals hiding out in their communities and ganging up on people like me who have had enough. I paid you. DO YOUR FUCKING JOB!

It's the little things. rust told me that the KB pistons were crap and his were better. I believed him, cancelled my SCAT order that I was already on the fence with and he knew it, then he hits me with I don't have this pistons, but I have these. Basically the same style pistons SCAT offered. WTF? So I settled for his high speed amazing custom pistons, but I now have to cough up $1000 on head work because the dish is too small on the ones he had in stock. Honest mistake? Maybe. I went with it. No beef. So what the fuck else can I tell you? rust moldinger had his way with my daughter's money. It was the bullshit that he pulled on my wife and the lies that brought this to a head. Fuck him!

We can understand that you are unhappy with your parts and maybe with a little kinder attitude, maybe you could ship them back for a refund
or maybe sell to someone else to recoup your money. At that point, I know that Carillo makes rods and you could contact David @ Marine
Crankshaft in Santa Ana, Ca and he could do a crank for you. I'm pretty certain that it would come to you in a box(which I understand is the most important part of this for you) and most likely not have rust or mold(from food left over from eating while working on it). Had it been known
that you are building an F1 motor, you could have been encouraged to purchase you parts from other vendors and not have to pay extra for rust
and mold.

Very cute. I don't lead with kindness after getting screwed around. You see I was very kind up until rust moldinger accused me of not trusting him when I wanted to check the order. Other parts aren't as discussed too, but I didn't feel the need to keep the thread alive, Thanks for resurrecting it genius. Oh, and I actually requested a refund multiple times and haven't heard back. This post wouldn't exist otherwise. Ciao

It's been two weeks since anyone has posted. Has there been any resolution to this issue?

No but The super bitchen timing set that rust sold us is worthless. Sprockets do not line up and the chain tracks off by nearly 1/8".It's been confirmed by engine pro and SA Gear. WHERE IS MY REFUND RUST MOLDINGER? Are you the man that people say you are or just another conman douche?

I created an account just to lend my support the the people who are still get taken for a ride by Russ the puss so people know not to trade with his scammer.
I too can confirm he is a lier, a thief and tries to scam anyone who cannot physically walk into his shop to sort him out. I am honestly amazed he still gets promoted or gets business when you dig into how often he is taken to claims for providing dodgy parts or in most cases just not providing the parts at all.
Now I made the mistake of taking the so called "good word" of Russ the puss from the forums back 6 or more years ago and signed up to a 4.8L stroker completely built and broken in ready to drop into a new build, I also paid up front as he said this "ensured priority". I then spent nearly 2 years after that chasing Puss over getting the engine and was given every excuse under the sun including trying to send me parts instead of a completed motor.
When I finally decided to take it to small claims and went to inform my bank of the problem they offered to look into for me, unfortunately for Russ it turned out we had the same bank and once I forwarded over the correspondence with Russ the puss, the bank made a decision the next day to refund the amount without further delay or response from Russ.
For anyone who is still dealing with old mates Russ the puss, just contact your bank and move forward with small claims, you will never get anywhere trying to deal direct with Russ unless you have a "guy" you can send into his place of business to "resolve" the issue faster.
