Still waiting..

Post by StrokerGal »

...for a reply to my refund request. Until then I guess I'll just think out loud for a while. Paid $585 for a $527 crank. Plus $150 for balancing. How could a person balance a crank and not notice rust and mold? Stevie Wonder? How could mold and rust pits form in the short time it took to balance the crank and package the parts? Probably the technology sufficient to answer these vexing questions does not yet exist...

I cancelled my SCAT order because rust moldinger said that the KB pistons suck and his are better. Then at the last minute he told me that he didn't even have the pistons. Leaving my options, to buy basically the very same pistons that he said sucked, or paying over $1000 for head work to expand the combustion chamber. Thanks rust!

I'm a college student and a waitress. My Dad was going to fix my XJ up for me when the engine blew and he trusted Russ Pottinger for help. He misled us a few different ways and now won't return my money. It's so sad that someone would do this to people. Usually people are happy to fix honest mistakes, but apparently this isn't an honest mistake.

I get that you're angry with Russ but you don't need four different threads to express it.
I hope he'll respond to give his side of the story and work things out with you.

I don't like being lied to or stolen from. you? rust moldinger has had ample opportunity to make this right but defaults to how much he did to help me. My refund request from 7/24 has gone ignored. The whole thing is a joke, but the joke is on my waitress/college student daughter who paid rust moldinger $2746.00.

I detest liars. The smaller lies are particularly detestable. When I asked rust moldinger why no box, he stated that this is how he gets them. LIE! Now how can I trust this person moving forward. When I asked him about the rust and the mold, he would not address it. His reply was how much time he spent helping me on my order. When I requested a full refund he never replied. This is for my Daughter. No one would accept this nor should they.

Alright, I logged in today for the first time in a while and all I see is this "Gal" all over the forum, I normally wont get involved in this type of thread but....

Russ isn't Amazon, you gave him two, maybe two and a half days to respond before you start bashing him. Russ builds engines for racing, he might be at the race track, or building an engine, maybe he has the flu, all I know is that he doesn't sit in front of his computer waiting for emails all day. I email him, trying to give him money, and it takes several days or even a week for a response.

Look, you are unhappy, I get it, and if you want to get on here and post a complaint, that's your prerogative, but stop cluttering up the forum. One post is enough. If you are looking for support or sympathy, you probably would have got it with a single post explaining the situation. Instead you chose to create multiple threads where you rant and slander and call Russ childish names. You call him a liar, what did he lie about? I understand you aren't happy but nothing you have said indicates any actual example where you were told something and it was untrue. You complain about his prices, once again Russ isn't Amazon, he doesn't deal in high enough volume, like Jegs or Summit, to get the discounts they get from the manufacturers. I deal with a lot of small local shops, I buy things from them that I can get cheaper elsewhere, I don't feel like they are ripping me off, I know they are providing me with the best deal they can. When I need help right away, Jegs isn't going to help me, but I can call my local shop that I have supported and they will.

Russ is well known for his experience and expertise, most regulars on here have dealt with him and deal with him regularly. I have seen a few complaints in the past, any business is going to encounter such times, and have always seen them addressed by Russ.

And how can we trust your posts when one minute you are posting as a college waitress and the next minute you are posting as her dad, yet the language in all posts is so similar they sound like they were written by the same person?

I'm the waitress' Dad. The one who is dealing with rust. We set this up so she could learn about the project and participate. She has posted a few times and probably more in the future, but probably not now since rust screwed us over. rust moldinger lied to me. Was rude to my wife and shipped a part that was questionable in my mind. Especially when you consider the price paid. He handled this transaction like a prick. Got the money and changed his whole attitude in real time. Accusing someone of not trusting him because we wanted to go over the order is as low as it gets. Especially after he's been handed $2746.00. THAT HE COUNTED. Screw him for that alone, but there's much more to it. So ignore the thread man. No skin off your back. When presented with with the problem, rust resorted to some petty double talk and what can only be described as lies. he gave my Wife an old crusty crank in a bag. Paid $735 and not even a box to protect it? LAME! No paperwork? No maker mark? The invoice just listed it as Crank". Started as SCAT or Promaxx and then just promaxx, then on the final invoice just "crank" That's beneath what we're trying to do. I expect as much info that I can possibly get. Not whatever some arrogant prick thinks I should have. Then he wants to tell us how great he treated us. LAME! The dude definitely needed calling out if only for this one situation. Screw him! My refund request has still gone unanswered. Yes he's not amazon.

I don't have anything to add that I haven't already said. I wish you the best of luck, I truly do, especially your college daughter who is building her second stroker (My college age daughter can barely change her oil and only because I forced her to learn). I work two jobs and still my project is taking infinitely longer than expected, I appreciate the value of money, especially when it is hard earned.

We Jeepers are a unique community, and us strokers a smaller community within that community, and that is what makes this hobby/lifestyle/financial black hole so enjoyable. I hope it works out well for you. I am stll waiting to hear back from Russ as well, but in my case I have a few grand I want him to take off my hands.

Second Stroker as a family. One was for my Son. This is for my Daughter. Way to focus on what matters man. She paid for the parts. I guess you wouldn't go to bat for your daughter. I expected a certain amount of this. All the boards are the same whether it's old stereos or Jeeps. I didn't get on this board to be part of your "community". You sound like a liberal politician when you say that. I believe in the power of the individual myself. I came on to learn from good people, not to get ripped off.

Wow, I tried to be nice, which honestly you didn't deserve, but I was giving you the benefit of the doubt because I understand what it is like to be upset about something. In return you just replied by insulting me and my character as a father.

You are right, all forums end up like this, and it is because of assholes like you that they do. You came here wanting help, barely a member for a month, and you trashed up the board with all of your whining and crying. You can continue to throw out your insults and accusations, I am sure it will really help you solve your problems.

What's liberal about being part of a group of people with similar interests, that's literally what a forum is. I guess having friends is a weakness to the "power of the individual." Keep insulting, I am sure people are dying to help you.

I'm done, I am just going to go back to being a gun building, gas guzzling 4x4 driving "liberal" ex-cop. Once again, good luck.

Go find the Suburu board man. I posted legitimate concerns regarding my purchase from rust moldinger who swindled my daughter through me. The word community and the word commune are directly related to the word communism. I'm a person. I want to talk to other people with independent minds. Not you. B-bye.

I posted very specific info about my dealings with rust moldinger. The two who have replied only did so to comment on me and their opinion of me. That's cool, but no respect from me will go to these groupthink "jeep community" guys who can't even respond to me about what I'm dealing with. This is a major setback for my family. Courtesy of rust moldinger. Thanks rust moldinger. You're the best!

Furthermore, being an ex cop does not impress me in the least. I don't see cops as part of the solution. cops look out for themselves. We've seen that since the george floyd riots. cops are not living up to their oath. They are a MAJOR part of what's happening to America, and not in a good way. Their motto should be "to protect and serve, our pensions". How many times have we seen the "blue Flu" when cops want a raise? They are not doing their jobs. they are obeying their unions. So sad. We pay them and they do nothing. They fall back on the Nuhrenberg defense. Just following orders...

So here I am trying to move forward. Waiting on my new crank. I'm out in the shop hanging the pistons and was quite impressed with the SCAT rods that rust moldinger invented. Very nice except for one thing, the bolts are welded shut. I cannot back the bolts out. These rods have been sitting for so long that the oil has welded the threads. Makita 18v impact. Maybe I need to hit it with the big gun but it seems a little much out of the box.
. Shot a video but the file is too big. I'll share a youtube link shortly. Thanks rust moldinger!
