$735 for this crank. No box, no paperwork. Just some mold, some rust some lies and some excuses.

As long as the crank journals are clean and rust free, you needn't worry. It's obvious some moisture got to the counterweights and fillets, but a chemical rust remover will have them looking like new again.
I do agree that $735 is a lot of money for the crank, though prices have become absolutely ridiculous these days. For comparison, Summit Racing sells the same Scat 4.2 crank off the shelf for $592 but that's without the $150 that Russ charges for additional balancing.

There's some areas on the journals that are questionable, but will not photograph. Whatever you're talking about as far as cleaning is concerned it should have been done by him, rebalanced and boxed. He never balanced it either. He never even inspected it or maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation. This turd passed this hunk of crap to my wife in a baggy as you see it and was rude on top of it all. That's just the facts there. You'd be pissed off too man. This crank retails for $527+ $43 shipping. They come balanced and chamfered. SCAT balances their crank for free if you buy direct. rust pottinger ripped my daughter off.

The crank manufacturer has confirmed that this crank was sold to bishop buehl on May of 2022. God only knows what it's been through over that year and a half. Moldy, rusty, and unboxed? He even left the manufacturers name off of the final invoice. Plus he rounded from the price and took an additional $4.00 from my wife. Not acceptable. What if I rounded down and paid him less? This is low character garbage. No one should have to deal with this crap in this situation. It's inexcusable. This dude cares about the money first and he proved it to me...

Correction. rust pottinger did NOT take the additional $4.00.rust kept referring to 2750 when the invoice said 2746 and I made an incorrect assumption. My bad on that one.

What did happen was that rust loaded my wife's car with parts, accepted the cash and then got bent when my wife called me to review the order. His words "why does he need to go over it doesn't he trust me?". I'll never be ok with that. By that logic, if he counts the money, he doesn't trust me? C'mon man. So unprofessional. I requested a refund and received a very long email about how great rust is. No acknowledgement of anything that I mentioned about the order. Just how much he did for me. That's a joke where I come from...
