renix over fueling

Post by Racer117 »

Although this one is not a stroker, I am in search of some help.

I am a seasoned mechanic, I just re ringed my buddies renix. I also installed new cam bearings and a replacement cam. he also supplied a new distributor. Fired it up last night and it idles but as soon as you give it any throttle it starts to over fuel and back fire in the exhaust. it runs really rich. Fuel pressure is between 35-40 psi. I am not that familiar with the renix and of course as far as i know can not scan or get data from it.

Any help would be appreciated

The original injectors were rated at ~19lb/hr @ 39psi. If yours are bigger, that could be the reason why the engine's running rich.
