Hey Y'all! New to the forum.
So, I don't see a lot of info regarding a 4.5 build. Is that kinda useless to date or is 4.6 just the way to go?
I've got an 01 that needs rebuilding and am looking to stroke it out.
I had plans on a 4.2 crank and rods with standard bore pistons along with everything else involved for a 4.5. Or should I just go with the 4.6?

Unless you’re planning to rebuild a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine, or your John Deere tractor engine I would never rebuild a engine with a standard bore if there was ever a consideration of a upgrade in performance

I wouldn't risk keeping a standard bore size on a 22 year old block where the roundness and taper of the cylinders may be outside factory tolerances. A +0.020" overbore (3.895" bore) is the minimum required and that, combined with a 3.895" stroke, would make the engine perfectly square with a displacement of 4563cc.
