Eagle 4.060" crankshaft

Post by GreenYJ »

I recently saw that Eagle makes a 4.060" stroke crankshaft. Has anyone seen one of these yet? Just curious.

I'm pretty sure those have been available for a while now. 505 would sell them as a part of their 5.0L stroker kit. The 4.060" stroke increases the average piston speed by about 5%. The 3.895" standard stroke keeps piston speed pretty safe even over 6000 RPM. 3.895" has a good balance between piston speed and torque at low RPM. Staying under 4300 FPM at 6500 RPM has been a known good rule of thumb for piston speed. That is based on 454 and 502 big blocks and their 4" stroke. Going over 4" is typically reserved for dedicated drag motors that change bearings, rings and dingleberry hone each cylinder between runs.
