Finally starting my stroker build

Post by amcinstaller »

So after years of life being in the way, dropped my block and crank off to machine shop to be checked over to start the build. Here's what I've got:
93 block
12 cwt crank
Short rods
.030 hyper pistons
Comp cams 239 grind
99 intake
Head to be determined (I'll use my current on the stroker short block)
39 psi rail with fresh reman stock injectors
Comp cams timing set
Obd1 harness (seriously eyeing an obd2 and hp tuners setup)

Now I fully expect to have to buy more bits. For the immediate, I'm waiting to see how my block and crank do. If they check out good, what upgraded parts will i need? I'm expecting to need bigger injectors, and a new oil pump will be in order, the current running 4.0 makes a whopping 15 psi at hot idle. Also I would like a good header, currently running a 3 inch intake and 2.5 inch exhaust with stock header. Feedback appreciated

Don’t have all of the specifics on your set up, but just be aware of the effects of a high static compression ratio with a poor quench.
I’m sure you know but a valve spring upgrade will be necessary for the 239 cam.

I full on expect to run 93 in this and I'm OK with that, but I hadn't considered valve spring upgrade so thanks for pointing that out. It's been a while since I really did much big reading on the project
