Looking for opinions on degreeing the camshaft in the stroker. Does it need to be done or will the dot to dot method be enough?

The dot to dot method would normally suffice. Depending on whether you'd like to advance or retard the camshaft 4 degrees, you could install a 3-keyway timing set that allows adjustment in either direction.

Ok great, I am using a roll master set from Russ so it has adjustments that i can make. I started the process last night but lost confidence in part of the process. Which is why i made the post, just in case i decide to give up. I think my issue is in the degree wheel i am using, it did not come with a bolt that allows me to spin the wheel separate from the crank (zero out at TDC). I plan to run to my local engine builder and see if i can borrow a wheel set up from them.

Quick update, turns out I was a tooth off on the crank gear. Had the local machine shop check my work and that's what they found. Glad I had them check, learned a lot during this process so it wasn't a total loss.

You will never know where your cam is, unless you put a degree wheel on it and check it.
