I got my stroker together and it fired up but was running rough. It will rev ok up to about 2500 rpm then it misses badly. I put a timing light on it and its running about 50 degrees advanced at idle. I tried advancing distributor up one tooth and it got worse by about 10 degrees. Help!

You probably have the distributor off by a tooth.

This really threw me for a loop. All sensors were new. I was very careful how I put timing chain on. I reinstalled the distributor 5 times. One tooth back one tooth forward etc. Then just put it back how i knew it should go. Was thinking bad distributor? Bad CPS or i put timing chain on wrong. So then I replaced tps with old one, no help. Then I replaced the new crank position sensor with the old one and voila! She ran perfect. Somtimes new parts are bad.

If it ran before it came apart I usually put the old sensors back. I know it's hard to do with a new build. The desire to replace everything and think that it run trouble free for thousands of miles is strong in all of us. Im glad you figured it out. I try to only use factory sensors. They cost more, but they are usually trouble free.

Sounds like a sound strategy. I don't know what brand it was. I bought so much stuff.

Thanks for posting this. I just ran into the same thing. Only difference was I used all of the same sensors but still had a bad CPS. Mine would only rev to 1000rpms. This
Post saved my sanity for sure.
