258 to 4.5 swap
I have the chance to buy a low mile hesco built 4.5 to drop in my cj. But I am all ready set up with Holley sniper and hyper spark on my 258. I would like to keep using these systems. Is it possible or worth it. what will it take to mount the distributer where the oil pump is. will the current cam gear drive it?

Re: 258 to 4.5 swap
Yes it's possible. You'd be losing a lot of efficiency and better fueling with the MPFI on the 4.0's, but you could put the 258 intake back on. The build would be the same as doing the 4.0 head swap when it comes to the intake/exhaust/accessories.
If it's a good deal; why not buy it and store it, play with your injected 258 for a while, and when you get bored, swap it out?

That's what I'm thinking but what about the distributor mount and oil pump
