greetings from san Antonio...I have a 2000 XJ sport and wanting to up the horsepower and torque for more towing capacity...was looking at a place in new mexico for help, but am not impressed with the feedback people are leaving...new to this stuff and don't know if rebuilding current motor is better than just dropping a new create motor...any thoughts? also if anyone in the san Antonio area reads this, is there a shop in town that can do the work? thank you

If you need a quick turnaround for the engine swap, you have two options:
1. Buy a ready built stroker long block.
2. Buy a previously running 4.0L junkyard motor and have it rebuilt into a 4.6L stroker to your own specifications.
For the latter, you'll need to find a machine shop and an engine builder you can trust.
What's your budget for the project?

I understand it is off the topic but if you are after more power another option is forced induction. Your ECU is now supported by HP tuners and can be reconfigured.
