Stroker noob ?

Hey Stroker dudes! I'm new to the forum and to the stroker world. I have an 88 Wrangler I am repowering with a 4.6L stroker. I used 4.2L crank and rods from (81-86 #3235477), 4.0L block (96-98 #53022569), Silvolite +0.030" dished pistions, 4.0L head #7120 and Comp cam 68-231-4 with new spirngs and retainers. Should be about 8.8 - 9.1 CR. My motor is all ready built by Apples machine but I have a few questions before I put it in.
First of all the girdle hits the rod cap. The builder tried to space it with washers but didn't feel like there was enough thread. He recommended leaving it out. What do you guys think?
I want to use the 4.2L oil pan and pickup tube. Is this ok?
I'm staying with a webber 38/38 carb for now. Running a stock 4.2L intake and 4.0L exhuast header. Is there any fitment issues and do I need to find different bolts and washers? Does the Power steering pump need a special bracket?
I'm keeping the V-belt setup so I'll need the 4.2L water pump. correct?
I 'm using an HEI distributor with about a 6 mth old gear on it. Should the gear be changed?

Any other helpful tips are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dave

Thanks for the reply Flash. I guess I have enough opinions on the girdle so I will leave it out. I hope the CR is not much higher because I want to run reg gas. The pistons were re dished to lower CR. We will see soon.

Can anyone else give some input on these other items in question?

I can't wait to get this motor in and feel the difference from the tired old 4.2L.... :D

Thanks Muad'Dib!!! I've got all my parts clean blasted and ready for paint. The fun is about to begin with the engine swap. I found out I do have to grind some notches in my intake so it sits on the locator pins instead of sliding on them. I'll try to post some pics of it soon.

How hard is it to put a fuel injections system on these engines when your Jeep didn't have one?

I am almost positive that the 4.2 water pump won't fit in the 4.0 block...
