Anyone know how to stab “distributor” which is just has a cam sensor on it, on a coil pack motor. I just got my 4.6 back and I don’t know where to set it. It’s in a 2000 TJ.

OK to TDC compression, toothpick the sensor, line up the oil pump and gear and slide it in with the wires to the firewall. I can see clamp marks so I should be good there. The only question I have left is there only one way the tooth pick can go?

There is a hole in the vane and a hole in the housing line them up, and stab a toothpick through both of them to hold it in place. tighten the bolt, you should be ready to rock (crawl)

Using that ford explorer coil pack isn't really a bad idea. I was planning on going to coil on plug when my coil died or I got around to it, but that might be a better idea. I'm getting sick of man handling that rail out of there when I want to remove spark plugs.
