1999XJ 4.5L w/ 68-200-4 swap into distributor less 2000xj Help

I've just purchased a 2000 xj with a bad motor that I'd like to swap all my parts from my 1999 on. I've got a 4.5L stroker in my 1999 that runs great.

My question is on the cam. I'm running comps 68-200-4 grind. It runs great in the 1999 but my 1999 has a distributor where the 2000 doesn't.

I really don't want to swap in another cam as I am very pleased with what I have. To make this cam work I had to index the cam a little bit in my 1999.

With the 2000 distributor less ignition, can I just index the cam sensor to run my cam?

Other option is to swap over to the 2000 all the 1999 stuff. PCM and wiring harness, but I can't find info of all that's required to swap. Like the TCU , BCM or whatever. There is just no info on this swap. I'm not opposed to either just can't find the info I need. Only thing I'm opposed to is swapping out my 252 grind. The specs are really similar to the stock CAM.

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

If the 2000 is like my 2003, the cam position sensor is literally the bottom half of a distributor with a magnetic sensor. I'm using a cam for a pre 98 engine and it has run 70,000 miles. not sure when they went from a cam button to a retaining plate. If you have a running stroker, why are you not just swapping the whole engine?

Good to know about the cam sensor.

I am swapping the whole engine, but my only concern is the cam not working. Do to lack of info and responses looks like I may be just swapping the 1999 ignition, ECU, exhaust, wiring harness, and then just figure out what else needs changed when I get to that point.
