Hey guys what's the opinion on high flow cats for 99 plus obdII. NON CAL emission.
Is there any that are actually real high flow. I think my cat is clogged from my previous engine failure. My stroker with SS header is quieter then my 4.0 so I'd lime to replace my cat with the best option.
Thanks ahead.

I adjusted the OE one on my Jeep, it has 100% flow rate now.

You could get a universal 2.5" high flow cat from Summit Racing.

Trust me I would prefer to modify mine but I doubt I would pass emissions. I went with a flow master series 223.
Hopefully that will sound and perform well.

Do you have a check engine light?

My cat is temporarily gutted as it clogged up and I'm about to have a custom exhaust built. No CEL after 2000 miles. I think the only real concern is passing emissions if you need to.

Nope, the O2 sensor is still in place, it doesn't seem to care that there is nothing but exhaust gas in the converter shell.

I'll be running a turbo on the 4.7l I'm throwing in my heep. Crossing my fingers a universal hi flo cat will get me through CO emissions.
If the cat fails to meet my needs I will bite the bullet throw one of these HO-series on

A pretty penny they are, but they are different than your average cat, they operate at a higher temp and what not. I had the 3.5" cat on my ~650 bhp subaru, passed emissions no problem.

I have seen numerous dyno tests that prove high flow cats (such as magnaflow)do not cost you any HP.They only cost about $100 on ebay and you will not have to worry about getting tickets and passing inspection.I run one on my YJ and picked up a few ponies over the stock cat witch was the old restrictive type and It has passed the New York emissions for the last 15 years..Exhaust note is much deeper also but i also have a high flow borla muffler (no header). Not a tree hugger but no point in poisoning the air with no gain.It also sucks being behind a rig on the trail running untreated exhaust.Just my 2 cents.

I just put a Magnaflow on mine. Got it cheap on amazon. There is a mesh screen but you can see all the way through it. If you think you are losing power just re-gear. you know you wanted to anyway.
