Please review and critique My Stroker recipe

Hello, and thanks in advance for your assistance.

Last summer my son and I had a blast off-roading and we ended up in too deep of mud and hydro locked the jeep engine. Now were planning to build it "better" with a 4.6L stroker,

Looks good. However you won't be running 87 octane with option #1. I would also recommend a JP Performance/ Rollmaster for the timing set. Hylift-Johnson for the lifters.

Thanks for the info, I found the JP timing set on ebay for $104, I'll send the other once back.

With the information entered into the calculator on the board I have the following:
SCR 10.57:1
DCR 9.07:1
Quench 0.043
Intake closing angle 55

Any issues with this running the 93 octane fuel?

That will be fine on 93.. you might even get by on mid grade.

Hello again all,

Now that all the machine work is complete I have a final decision on the head gasket thickness that I need some help on.

0.043" gasket will give me a SCR of 9.72:1 and quench height of 0.034"
0.051" gasket will give me a SCR of 9.57:1 and quench height of 0.042"

Which gasket would you choose and why? My goal is to have a engine that runs on pump gas.

Go with the thinner gasket. The decreased quench distance should offset any problem with pre ignition.

That's why I like setting up my combinations off a 9.450
Block height with a 1.385 CD piston.

Targeting a piston to be .008 out allows for variances that could be made up with the two common choices of head gaskets.

Your piston rings are on the way.
