Hello Strokers,
Well so far my build is going to include a big valve head. The guy I have doing it is VERY skilled and has been doin recent work on Ferrari's, Viper's, race engines, etc..., so he's no nOOb. He explained that what he'll do will be complimentary to this build (4.6-4.7 dimensions) I'm gonna use the original block, 258 crank, 4.0 rods, and KB forged pistons. I'll also include a "NEW" style intake manifold, 24# injectors, 96+ main bearing girdle, Melling HiFlow oil pump. Some items still in question. Pushrods- Not sure on the needed length. Hesco adjustable FPR. Do I need this to run it for the break-in miles until I go to UniChip? and after wards? What oil filter do you guys like? The cam? I remember four Wheeler's article on the Stroker and they thought they could have gone with a hotter cam and a bit more compression. What'cha guys think?

If I go with these specs-
Bore-3.910
Stroke-3.895
Combustion Chamber-58CC
Deck Clearance-.000
Gasket Thickness-0.051
Dome/Dish/Valve Relief-21.73 (the KB forged piston specs)
Con Rods-6.123
Cam Duration-250 degrees (Comp 68-231-4)
Cam Lob Sep.-111 degrees

This gives me= 280.61". 4.6 liters, 9.49 static comp. ratio, 8.12 dynamic comp. ratio, and 0.051 quench.

Does this sound like a feasible mix? any suggestions? Will this run on the stock ECU until I have break-in miles and can take it to uniChip?

Thanks,
Todd

Hey all,
A variation I'm trying is-

Deck clearance-.0020
Gasket thickness-0.043

This puts me right on the money with quench at- 0.045, and compression around 9.61:1, dynamic between7.82 or 8.22:1 Are these gaskets harder to find? (from what I've been reading)

Todd

Or find one of the MLS gaskets that mic in at .038 and go with a .007 deck height

You will only need shorter pushrods if youre decking block or head, and if youre using a much smaller head gasket. FWIW Im using stock pushrods with .060 shims. Probly not the best idea, but it works.
