i've been beating around the bush with this stroker. i'm looking at a 85 4.2 crnk. is it an "either or" to cut the nose down or get a spacer? meaning will i need a spacer And cut it down or just a spacer? (were can i get it/ can i make it?) i'm going with the 4.2 rods also. i'm trying to keep the machine work to a minimal. i'm looking to go with the 99+ xj intake, is there any other years zj, tj . . . that has the same intake? also looking into pacesetter headers off ebay. good/bad? i want my jeep to be a good all around vehicle i'm lifed 5.5" 35"tires 4.56 gears. i want to mess around with hondas and play in the mud and ride traild but its still my everyday driver so mpg is a factor also. havent read about mpgs on a stroker.
Thanks AJ

It is an either or situation with the longer snout. If you go the spacer route, I know some people have made it out of an old harmonic balancer. Its just a 1cm piece washer.

I think a majority of 99+ have the intake. I got mine off a 2000 Grand Cherokee. Not sure about the TJ, but it shouldnt be that hard to figure out.

Pacesetter headers are usually cheap and the paint will burn off. If you havent heard of an APN header look into it. It the same design as banks so it wont come with a down pipe. The good thing is that its 150 shipped to your door.

For the first 1000 miles or so my mileage was not good (13-15mpg). It has since risen to around 16-17 mpg, but I think with a proper tune it would improve.

Found out while checking out dupli-color's website that the black paint that comes on headers is only there to stop rust during shipment. According to them, if it's painted black (unless stated otherwise), you need to remove the black paint and recoat with their VHT paint or some other high temp coating. I'm not sure how true this is but your statement helps confirm it.

The 00+ TJ's have the same style intake.
