Jeep Strokers

Did my break in period with a from and shell 10w30. My first main oil change went with a purolater and the same oil. Now its ticking on me. What oil are people running as well as filter ? Really don't feel like pulling the head lol. I just want to drive it ! Thanks friends

Could also be an exhaust leak? Did you put any zinc additive during break in, and with this oil change?

What cams and rockers are you running? Does it sound like a single one making the noise, or just all of them?

682324 comp with stock rockers and springs. Just took off the valve cover and the first rocker retainer is twisted. Not sure how to post a pic. Umm.... now what ?

Bend it back and hold it as you tighten it. It happens, shitty design. The comp cam will be slightly noisy.

That's it just bend it lol. I thought this was a serious deal. What causes this ?

Could a lifter cause this ? Rockers and pushrods seem fine and not twisted.

Removal and installation of the rocker arms. There isn't much stress on the bridge, it just locates the trunion while bolting it down.

Huh. It just doesn't seem right. I found an another non bent one off the old 4.2 head that's straight. Most of those are slightly tweaked. Might sound dumb but I'll ask anyways... doesn't matter valves open or closed you torque all rockers right down the line right ? Can't remember ft lb number off the top of my head. My phone is dying. I'll keep posted. Thanks friend

They got bent when you removed them. The intake and exhaust lifter needs to be on the heel of the camshaft when removing and installing the bridge.
They're not that expensive and can be purchased independent of the rockers.
The torque is 24 foot pounds.

Wow dodged bullet ! I was like umm... this can't be good. Anyways thanks to all. I guess that has nothing to do with a ticking so back to that now.

Well I put some risolene in the oil and it seemed to help. As of now on acceleration while cruising the sound goes away as well as deceleration. At a steady spread I can hear it.
