When you grind the rod journals on a crankshaft, the undersize rod bearings (thicker) make up for the amount of material that was ground from the crank journal.

Now, if you're able to offset grind the crankshaft and use a ride with a smaller housing bore, you'll be able to increase the stroke. In most cases this is done with aftermarket rods and not very cost-effective for the average engine build.

Hope that helps

No. It is ground concentric.

I see what you me a. With bigger rods smaller pistons. Yes I comprehend that but I'm talking just grinding the crank with bigger bushings. My knowledge tells me if you take ten off the crank where the rods connect and go ten bigger on the bushings you aren't changing travel unless I'm wrong of coarse.
