Hey guys.
92 cherokee stroker build.
I have ran into a problem.
I bought the clevite 50514CP.030 for my oversized cylinders.
and they dont fit at all. they are like 2/3 thicker than the ones in the pistons.
are there the correct ones I would need ?
thanks for any help.

Those are standard sized rings. If they don't fit you need metric rings. what pistons do you have?

clevite 50514CP are for GM 6 cylinder engines.

Like Chris asked, what are you doing ?

Aren't those ok to use with Jeep pistons that require standard size rings? When I cross referenced Sealed Power E-234X, Mahle 50514CP would come up. Or are the Clevite and Mahale rings for different cars and they just share the same part number? I'm also asking because I have the Mahle 50514CP for my KB944s.

Yeah according to what I was reading they were the same. But after comparing to the old rings. It doesn't appear so

I have the Mahle 50514CP in my KB 944s that require STD rings, and they fit fine. I even put them next to the SP E-234X and the looked like the same size. I guess you should let them know what pistons you are using, I just hope that I didn't get the wrong rings again, and the ring dimensions for my Mahles are 5/64, 5/64 and 3/16.

So something is up here. I was just about to purchase the sealed power rings. but the thickness is noted to be the same at 5/64 in.
I now have the pistons cleaned up enough I can read whats stamped on top.
and it says.
Top line L3
030 P3071
3 9033

A quick google search later found out what they are.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Enginetech-P307 ... 1581643837

It says to Use S38814 rings.
All the info I'm finding on these pistons are that they are for the 4 cylinder engine.
I had great compression prior to pulling it.
anyone know what rings I should buy ?

Pre 95 pistons used a standard width ring. Later 4.0`s used a metric width.

You can fit a metric into a standard but not a standard into a metric.

^^ This

Looks like you have pistons that require 1.5 1.5 4.0 metric rings

You'll need to get:
2M4815 Hastings
E925K Sealed Power

Your correct, Your 50514CP rings are 5/64 5/64 3/16 and would work fine with your 944 Pistons.

Hope this helps

On a side note. the metric ring pricing is like double the imperial... ouch.
