Got my new engine running last week, started it and broke the cam in and been driving it around for a bit, feels strong but not been over 2500-3000 rpm yet so if it got any power I don't really know... I'm a bit dissapointed though; Lunati states that the Vodoo-camshaft should have a very rough idle, and thats kind of cool in a Hot Rod but it runs smooth as silk, almost as a stock engine, but I can live with that... Can have something to do with my buddies perfectionism machinework and weightmatching, and on top of that another perfectionist doing the balancing-work almost as good as his own Super Stock Hemi, damn it's nice to have friends sometimes...
0-50 mph is done in a blink of the eye, just touching the pedal and shift it before 2500 rpm, will be driving it some more to give it a chance to seat the rings, but then it's time to see what it will do with all four barrels wide open instead of just the primaries open less then 25 %,I suspect it will move a bit more with this newly built 4.7 then it did last year with a the old 4.5 with reused stock everything internals and a old Crane cam that flatened out in rpm's after less than 5200 rpm.
Stay tuned while I'll tune it a bit more and then there will be a little movieclip posted here,if cash (and wife) allows it will be tested on a wheel-dyno later this summer, but thats not really important,it's what it does on the street that counts... Need new slicks though since the old ones is really old and tired.
