Jeep Strokers

nice to meet all of you this is my first post.. so i live in california and i have read a few threads over a period of a few months where someone knows a guy that built a stroker that passed california smog.. i need help in maybe getting a proper parts lift of what i need to make sure my stroker build will be california carb legal.. any help will be much appreciated.. 1998 jeep grand cherokee 2wd laredo i6 4.0 180,000 miles

Unless you monumentally screw up the stroker build with the wrong combination of parts, it should have no problem passing CA emissions.
Mine's just a plain vanilla poor man's stroker build and its HC/CO emissions are much lower than they ever were on my original 4.0 engine (which was still in very good health after 174k miles).

I have been reading this site for a number of years and read the old Stroker group before that.

Can not recall anyone posting that their stroker had failed California smog test just because it was a stroker. Now, my Comanche failed a smog check 4 years ago because of a bad gas cap. But that could happen to a stroker also. But if you have a check engine light on your car, you fail the smog test right away. If you remove your emission equipment, you fail the smog test. Just replace the short stroke crank with a long stroke crank, keep all your smog equipment and you will be just fine.
