Question about machine work on block

I have all the pieces for my bottom end ready to go to the machine shop. My only problem is about decking the block. I plan on ordering Bulltear custom pistons for my 4.0 rods. I want the block bored but I am not sure how much will be necessary to clean it up well so I'm not sure on piston size. I also want the block decked but I'm not sure the shop can do that to "zero" deck without the pistons. Will I need to have them do the boring then order the pistons and take the pistons in so they can deck or have them bore and deck it and order the pistons to come out flush with the deck?

If your machine shop is reputable, they will INSIST! on having the pistons on hand before they bore the block!, they can measure it and tell what the over bore will need to be so you can order them, but they will meed them to fit the block to them.

Correct. A good machine shop will not bore prior to having the pistons on hand. However, I have seen machine shops do a partial bore if they are concerned that the bore may not clean up at .0x over.
