Rev Limiter Question

How does the limiter limit, by cutting out the fuel or cutting out the spark?

Oh yeah I almost forgot. That would be with an OBD1 setup.

To elaborate it`s actually both.......Without getting too deep into the inner working of SBEC (OBD1) the ECM is cutting spark but the way the system is designed it also cuts fuel.

For the sake of this conversation spark leads the equation. Once spark is gone the injectors then loose their signal.

If this were not the case then cutting only spark would load the exhaust with unburnt fuel and when the ignition came back in you would have a serious uncontrolled combustion. IE a backfire within the manifold/exhaust system :boom:
