Jeep Strokers

First off, Hello to everyone!!!! First post. I have been guest reading the forum for some time now and I am getting parts together for a mini stroker build. I'm not new to engine building, just new to the 4.0.I have a very tired 4.0 and it's time for a rebuild. I have opted for a version of the 4.2 mini stroker due to already having a new set of 4 banger pistons (525AP's) from a prev cherokee parts truck purchase. Here's the plan...
91or 99 4.0 block - i have both
91 H.O. head - with lightly worked exhaust ports
232 crank - 3.5" stroke
525AP30 pistons - 1.580 comp dist 14cc dish (.30 over) only have to buy two!
.043 head gasket
cam???? still thinking on that one.
Deck height should be -.002" (quench of .041")
I'm aware this setup will most likely require premium fuel depending on cam selection. I'm ok with that.
This will be a slow build so don't expect pics/updates every day.

A BIG thanks to all who have posted specs and build info that has brought me to this point!! There is a huge wealth of knowledge here.

Oh. And 99 intake/TB with 21lb injectors and adjustable FPR.
Just curious if anyone has used the 525AP's yet? They are considerably cheaper than the 2229's and already have a larger dish.

Has anyone looked at the deck thickness on the 525's for additional dishing possibilities? I have searched and found every other spec.

Sounds like a good plan. The SCR will be a bit too high for the stock cam but you could use the Mopar P4529229 cam with stock valve springs/retainers.

I have been looking at the 229. I do have a question on timing sets...
Did they change the cam gears to change the cam timing in '94? If so
Which set do I need to achieve the 4* advance I'm looking for short of the
Double roller. I hope to just use an offset key or bushing.

The stock timing set did change in '94 from a single roller to a silent link-type chain with beefier sprockets, but only certain aftermarket timing sets e.g. Cloyes have keyways to advance or retard the cam timing 4 deg.
