Jeep Strokers

I ran the stock clutch behind my 4.5l budget stroker, and it fared poorly. Now I'm boring the block and going with a mopar rv cam for torque, and I need suggestions for a stronger one. This motor will never see 4k rpm with me at the wheel, and probably never over 3k, but should be rediculous with the low end grunt.

Im running the Centerforce DF II, but from what Ive read of its design its more suited for high rpms. Might still be worth it though.

can't say much on which to go with. I just installed my stroker with a new centerforce stage 2 clutch but only have about 30 miles on it LOL

I purchased the cheapo one from quadratec a few months ago when i did my tranny swap. Obviously you know my opnion if i had to change it out when i built my stroker! It couldn't hold tight with a tired renix motor in front of it.....

I have the df2 as well--been using it for 3 years. I love it and would buy it again if I had to.

I've been running a Centerforce II for years-

I'm not crazy about it for rock crawlin' or technical Jeepin'. I find the clutch grabs too suddently when attempting to slip it a little at higher than idle (& with with a touchy throttle ). I'm going to be switching over to a quality OEM replacement the next time I'm in there.

Parts store one made by ZOOM. Been in there for a few years but maybe 1000 miles. Good so far. I like that it's not grabby - good for in the woods and such. I've never driven a rig with a centerforce or similar so I can't compare - might sign a different tune otherwise, who knows!!

At one point, Jeep OEM clutches were made by a company named Luk. They also make a "Pro Gold" series of clutches for Jeeps which were supposed to give 20-30% greater clamping ablity. Check them out at http://www.lukclutch.com/

I had bought a Pro Gold clutch kit for my old Wrangler, but never got the chance to install it. If the OEM clutch ever goes out on my stroked XJ, I'll be replacing it with a Luk Pro Gold kit.
