couple build ?s

ok fellas 242 12conter weight crank and rods are of to c&p machine. should i have them chop the snout or just get the hardened washer for the HB? wheres a good place to get rod, main and head studs?

I would do whatever is cheapest. I made a washer out of AL on the lathe for mine.

For studs I would use Summit:

I only replaced the head bolts and used the $25 Fel-Pro kit. I have never heard of a main or rob bolt breaking in normal use.

Use the stock bolts for the mains they are plenty. You would need a line bore if changing to studs. You can use stock replacement bolts for the head, but I am not impressed w/ their quality. I recommend the ARP head bolts.
