				258 12CW crank needs turning.
Six 248 rods
2686 head disassembled
865 block.
A guy here in town is interested in the stuff to build a short block while he drives his worn out 4.0.
Any idea on fair pricing?

I got one for free. I'm trying to get a feel for what the crank and rods are worth in the market.

I would say 100 bucks for the crank and rods and another 100 for the block and head. Although that head is pretty much junk. I would have a hard time paying more.

I don't care about the block and head.
I have a 258 crank and rods and want to find a good market value for them from those who are in the know so I don't give them away or charge too much.

I wouldn't pay more than 100 bucks for a 258 crank and rods.

I paid $75 for a 258 long block. Knew the block had a rod knock. So for $75 I have 6 rods and a crank that needs to be turned. Figured any used crank would need some work and the short rods were a bonus for the money. So I will spend $65 to have the rods resized and just under $100 to have the crank turned. More for a new set of bearings. Shop wanted $300 for a reground crank, bearings and rods were extra. Hope this helps.

A good 12 counterweight 258 crankshaft is worth every bit of $150.00 and another $50.00 for the rods.
