Titan complete upgrade kit thoughts

Hi guys new to the stroker forum have been reading around for awhile. I have a 91 mj that the engine is going out on as we speak daily driver so time is of the essence so at first I was looking into these ready to go crate strokers, but after reading horror stories about all these company's I decided to build my own so here's the question since my time is limited would the Titan kit be a good kit the kit I'm referring to is basically the long block disassembled I figured this way I could assemble myself and check torque and other things along the way The kit contains:

Silvolite Hyper Pistons

Hastings Moly Rings

King Rod Bearings

King Main Bearings

Elgin Performance Cam

Melling Valve Lifters

NEW Titan Assembled Stroker Head

Titan Re-manufactured block - cleaned, decked and bored. Durabond cam bearings installed

Complete Victor Gasket Set with MLS gasket

True Single Roller Chain Set

Cam Button

Brass Freeze Plugs

Precision Titan Crankshaft

Melling Oil Pump

Mellings Oil Pump Pick Up

4.0 Connecting rods.

Is this a good kit opinions please would be appreciated I know I could build my own and collect parts cheaper but time is an issue while my 4.0 is running also machine work in my area is expensive (Louisiana) I have priced all this out and it's not a bad deal for the price so to all the stoker gurus please help

I believe there was a guy on Jeepforum that builds strokers near LA that was very reasonable on engine work.

As to you original question, that looks like pretty much the standard stuff. I wasn't going to go moly rings myself because they are harder to break in and I think the cast will last plenty long.

Moly rings are not hard to break in. Its the chrome rings that are hard.

In recent research (like the last week) came across these two names in Orange/LA county.

Bishop-Buehl Racing Engines in West Covina, CA (also referenced on this thread: http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewt ... f=6&t=4002 )

Orange Engine Rebuilding in Anaheim, CA

I have not used either one of these shops. I can not speak of there reputation. I am just providing recent finds regarding question asked on this thread.

I think you got confused LA as in Louisiana thanks though so you guys are basically saying stay away from the Titan kit?

I am not, looks like standard stuff but you could probably get some of it cheaper elsewhere particularly the head and crank. Have you tried Clegg, Golan, and Mabco?
