I've been on this forum for years and never posted
Anyway,i live in France and going to start a build.
Project:
94 block
7120 head stock rebuilt(all new parts)
new scat crankshaft
IC 944 030,bulltear don't take orders
4.0L rods
Mopar Performance 4529228AD kit
.043 gasket
24 lb injectors
62mm TB
I prefer not to port the head and if possible not decking the block.
With the calculator,i get a scr:9.3 dcr:8.3 quench:.0645
It's going on a yj with dana 60, 37",14"coilovers,ax15 & np231 Hd
Can you please tell me if this setup is ok?
Many thanks,
Jeff,

With the Mopar 28 cam you'll have plenty of torque at lower rpm right where you'll need it.
Looks like a very good set up for rockcrawling.

Thanks Cheromaniac,
So will i be ok with no head porting and block decking?

Yup. Porting the head will add more power but mostly from 3000rpm upwards so if you spend very little time at higher rpm, you won't really notice any difference.
There's also no need to deck the block. The DCR is high enough as it is so leave it alone.

I'm gonna be using a 1990 block and looking at the F.A.Q,Deck height 9.429 to 9.435 inch.Specs for KB944 are 9.432 inch deck height.
So my deck clearence should be at .003 above.Am i correct? Is the stroker calculator for 9.450 blocks?
Thanks!

Stock deck height for all 4.0L blocks is 9.450"-9.456". The IC944 pistons have a compression height of 1.353" and the 4.0L rods have a length of 6.123"-6.127". With the 258 crank the deck clearance will be 0.022"-0.032" (average 0.027") depending on factory tolerances.
Keith Black's specs assume that you'll mill 0.020" from the block deck.

Ok,
I'am getting a kit from clegg eng with scat crank and rods on 944.Import taxes hammers me:(x2) or more. You play, ypou pay
Now,and again,I spent hours on strokers.com.
I'm a noob with massive yacht constuction, composite and....
If i stick with my 91fuel pressure pump @39 psi,
How can i get 24 lbs @39,knowing that i will play with map voltage?
Stroking an engine is a fun challenge,
Love it,

Just ordered most of the parts,
Regarding the Mopar purple cam 4529228AD : any special cam timing requirements or just dot to dot ?
Thanks,
Jeff,

During the 30 mn break ing procedure,is it ok not to use a t stat ?
In France our minimum octane is sp95 aka 90 US octane. Can i deck my block to get a better quench ?
Thanks,
Jeff,
