Hi,

Since I am new and I guess we do not all know each other, I like to know something about you.

To start with, I am from Helsinki, Finland and owner of -93 XJ. I am mostly competing, less having leisure trailing. The competiton is combination of endurance, trail skills and navigation. I don't know the name of this competition in english, but organisers give check points in WGS coordinates, 100-250 pcs in each competition and the task is to find and get close to as meny as possible in 24 hrs. You prove that you have been there by digital camera shot showing competitors one hand touching car and the other number plate of the check point. The check points are on top of rocks, in swamps and mud holes or anywhere in between. Typically we have 90-130 cars added by 50 or so quads per competiotion.

My car is mostly original XJ -93 (I am competing in Original class) with 2" lift, bead-lock rims, navigation aids etc. After next competition I will tear her engine in parts, port the head, 64-242-4 CompCam and related parts (already packed and coming). Time will show (condition of bores, cranck, pistons...) if at the same time she will came out with 4,5 baseline stroker with OEM cam springs, injectors, short rods, 677P pistons but nothing fancy. Most of the time I have low rpm crawling with occational high rpm mud holes. I appreciate your comments.

Long short story of myself, to start with...

That sounds like a blast! I don't think we have anything like that here. Desert racing just has a begining and end. Welcome and I hope you show us your build.
