oil pressure

I just did a stroker in my ZJ and on my first drive the oil pressure went all the way up. I drove it down to the shop that did the work for me and it was just over the stock 3 at the start. By the time it warmed up and I got down to the shop the pressure dropped a bit to a nice perfect 3 like stock. The shop suggested the gauge is bad and I should get a new one.

What should I expect? Any thoughts?

3, as in 30 psi? If so, thats fine. I don't see a problem.

3 what??, screw a mechanical gauge in it and see what it really is.

Got a mechanical gauge today. This let me figured out what 3 is, it's Pascals. Since I'm Canadian I have metric gauges. 3 is 44psi...

When warm I get ~22psi idle, ~15psi when at a red light and in drive and the RPMs get lower, but the top is about 55psi from 2200rp up. I drove around for an hour or so and didn't see it above 55. My first run I above 80psi ("5.4") and was worried. However it doesn't seem to want to creep up that high again. It is now behaving like stock. I'll definitely keep my eye on it.

According to my engine builder 13psi idle and 40-75psi @1600rpm is expected.
