Yea I've seen them with the hoods shimmed too ,I read a lot about it some people claim up to a 20 degree drop in temperatures ill be happy if I can even get close to that my xj runs hot already usually 200-210 on hot days and I figure the extra displacement and overbore will only make it worse (if I ever get my stroker done) ;) I'm just trying to whatever I can to combat the heat! Next move is ditch the clutch fan and go electric!
I did drop the rest of my parts off at the shop today they have the block bored , just need to deck it and recondition my rods and hopefully get this beast in the heep "sooner than later"!!!
Anyone know what I'm gonna need for fuel management on a 1997 jeep Cherokee with a 4.6 stroker? I'm planning on $#!T
Coming up just like to cross my Ts and dot my I's

They started out higher but I've been bull$#!//3+ with the main dude in there since day
#1 ,they've been a little slow but mainly waiting on me to get them all of the parts. He told me its race season and apologized for the delay and started knocking $ off here and there so far no complaints they build some high tech shiot and came well recommended,I was almost expecting double the price for the machine work... Shhhhhh!!! :rockout:
They are trying to talk me into a bigger cam since it's a Dd to get the bang for my buck / that just sounds like more bucks to me tho, that's the only thing I'm still on the fence about????
So many variables to the equation :!:
Trying to decide if I should get a screamer or stick with the mopar 229???, I know what the screamer would mean :worship:

Not much progress on my stroker other than I did drop some money off at the machine shop today they had the rods done and will be decking the block this week or next its starting to finally come together and the timing couldn't be better my 4.0 is tired real tired and the crack in the block I welded last year started leaking again finally,I just got a feeling her days are numbered so stroker is priority number one! This is taking forever it seems,

Machinist called today he did the mock up to decide how much to deck off the block and he said my pistons were only .12 in the hole (is this normal) I told him take .7 off which should give me a 48 quench
Just curious do stock deck heights vary that much? BTW I got 4.0 rods with ic944 pistons, the good news with such little decking I should be good with stock pushrods

You meant to type .012" in the hole. When I did calcs of the 4.0 rods and 944s a while back, I think they were .029" +/-.003" in the hole on a stock deck. Take the .007" off.

Just for reference my sealed power rod bearings had the oil notch in them for anyone looking for more lube! I know it's been discussed and opinions seem to vary but as others have said if the engineers didn't think they were necessary then why were they there to begin with
