Icons and 4.0 rods or Ross pistons and 6.150 Eagle rods

I've been lurking here a little bit and trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can but there is a lot of info to weed through. My number 1 priority with this engine is longevity as this will be my daily driver. I however don't mind spending extra money if it will yield more horsepower and be just as reliable.
I would like to do a 4.7 and it seems like the most common direction is the Icon pistons and 4.0 rods or the 6.150 Eagle rods and Ross or Diamond pistons. The cost seems to go up quite a bit with rods so I was just wondering if this equated to more horsepower or are you just getting a more durable product? Another thing I notice is it seems quite a bit cheaper to buy the parts separately rather than the package. Am I missing something or are the packages really just bring up the price?
I've been looking at Clegg's, 505, and Hesco. Any other sites worth looking at?
