Re: Re-Turbo Comanche
a/c compressor is gone, including the bracket. its was just a glorified idler pulley anyway. rotated the alternator around and it now sits higher.
here is the new bracket for the idler pulley.
next step, removal of the p/s and tensioner, gotta make room for the massive blower right!

Re: Re-Turbo Comanche
Nah the dirt helps seal the leaks. Haha I could probably shave 50lbs off if I power washed under there. I'm to a dilema though. Which way to mount the turbo.
Forward facing
Or rear facing

Or rear facing

Re: Re-Turbo Comanche
talked to a buddy of mine with a 1300hp supra. i am going with the rear facing setup, he agreed with me about the turbo being a little closer to the manifold that way there isnt as much hanging weight either.

Re: Re-Turbo Comanche
Exactly. And I have been a jeep tech for 9 years. Never once replaced one. I ordered the adjustable hall sensor from diyautotune.com. should fit perfectly in the recess where the wires go in the distributor housing.

Re: Re-Turbo Comanche
so the ms is in and everything is reading correctly except for i can't seem to get a steady rpm signal, so i am working back and forth with a good friend who builds them to get it figured out. here is what the setup looks like.

Re: Re-Turbo Comanche
Its an ms1 with the extra code. Its weird I can turn the engine over by hand and see an rpm signal but as soon as I start it with they key the signal goes away. I have some major interference coming from the start for some reason.

Re: Re-Turbo Comanche
pull your wires farther away from the starter and starter wires? it might help with cleaning up the signal

Re: Re-Turbo Comanche
I ran them separately. Diy shielded writes and grounded the sensor through the ms. I now have rpm. Now I just have to get it started.
