4.0 with v-belts
putting a 4.0 in my son's 77 hornet wagon what balancer do you use to keep the v-belt drive

The one that was on the 258 you pulled out.

the motor coming out is a 232

Ok, use the one off of the 232 you're taking out, the earlier crank should have the "long" snout and the 4.0 will have the "short" snout, it'll be ok, torque the bolt to speck and it wont come off.
You can get more power out of ANY engine!!!
