So the ford 24# injectors were way too big and I couldn't turn the pressure down far enough to make them work. So if I take my 19 pound stock injectors and turn them up to 44 or 45 pounds do yo do you think that would work? I'm concerned that if I turn the pressure to high it'll damage them

I don't think that 10 psi over stock would be a problem, I'm no expert tho.

I think they will be fine. Considering that later model Jeeps use 49+ Psi.

If I remember correctly there was a TJ that had 60 psi. I don't remember the year tho.

i'm more concerned with taking an injector rated at 39 psi and pumping 45 to 50 psi through it and it breaking

Its not like you are trying to push 100 psi though them. It won't be a problem.

How did you determine they were too large?

I also have a RENIX (your profile says you have an 88) and I also found that 24# injectors were too large. I ended up taking my stockish 18.25# Ford Mustang injectors and turning up the fuel pressure to 48psi. This made them effectively flow at 19.2#.

when i installed the 24# ford injectors i set the fpr at 43#'s and the wideband was jumping between 10 to 12 at idle until i turned them down to about 35#'s and it would jump from 16 to ---. i would adjust about a 1/2# at a time and give the jeep 4 or 5 minutes to run to get used to the new pressure but it just didn't seem to like those injectors

interesting bit of trivia my stock renix 19# injectors are the 4 pintle

well it likes the 19# injectors better but idle is low...around 400 and it still won't rev over 3000. changing the tps did nothing

checked my distributor indexing again and it's dead on. i moved it 1 tooth back and it ran like crap and the rotor was way in front(counter clockwise) of the #1 post. really don't understand why it's losing spark and fuel at 3000 rpm

The '05-'06 4.0L TJs run a fuel pressure of 4 bar (58psi).
