point me in a direction

Hello jeepers. I have a 4.7 v8 WJ without a drivetrain. I have a running/driving 99 xj (with a 95 ho block/head) and a 4.2 from a 87 yj in the garage. So what direction do I go. 4.2 with a 4.0 head/injection swap. 4.0 with the 4.2 crank? sell the xj and just carb the wj? My goal is more power than what my 4.0 has now, would like to keep this cheap as possible, and dependable.
edit. want to use the xj and the 4.2 to make the WJ my new driver/wheeler

The XJ 4.0L isn't the best candidate for a WJ. If you had the WJ 4.0L accessories they mostly wouldn't bolt on. And the mounting points for the engine mounts are different.

Ok. lets pretend I didn't say anything about the WJ and that I want to make more power for my xj. Where do I go from there that is the easiest choice. 4.2 block with 4.0 head or 4.2 crank in the 4.0? or crank and rods in the 4.0? Shoot me to some links with info

Personally I suggest going with the XJ. The WJ has a good V8 option. The XJ is lighter. A 4.0l in a ZJ wasn't bad, a 4.0L in a WJ was a dog.
Start with the basics, read the FAQ forum on here as well.

I only want the WJ for the larger interior. And from what I have read the WJ is only 300 pound heavier, so that really isn't a concern. Thank you for the links to get me started.

personally i'd either get a junk yard 4.7 or find somebody that rolled a wj with a 4.7. they can't be that expensive
