I asked this guy to bore out my RenixTB. He wanted to charge me $100 for the service.

Fortunately, Dave (on this forum) was kind enough to do my Renix for much cheaper.

Anyone interested in a Renix TB send me a PM and I'll get back to you. By the way, I'm the "Dave" in the post by whitey2001. Thanks Jason.
I'm not clever enough to have a clever signature. I'll just steal yours.

still waiting...
guy promised me a week max. ill give him a couple more days till i email him to see whats up.
maybe im just being impatient. hate paying for something up front. not to mention he's got my core too. only thing stopping him from keeping my money and core is one bad rating on his ebay.

He was slow to respond to me when I asked him about boring my Renix TB so I went over to read his ratings. He had mixed reviews that mainly focused on timing. Some people said it was super fast, others said it took forever. I did not see a single one that said he kept their core.

I think his promise of a week is once he receives it, he will have it completed and ready to ship. So with your shipping to him , the week of work and then the time to ship back. it may be 2-3 weeks total.

Anyone know how much a local machine shop would charge to bore out a TB?
Now I can be like all those other awesome people with more than one Jeep in their sig, but now I have to say one of them is sold:(

The boring would be cheap i would assume. The actual cost (and the hardest part from what i understand) would be making a butterfly valve that works properly. They are oblong with two different angles to match the walls of the TB.

Sorry to say but thats not a good sign at all... Sounds like he took your money and TB and RAN. I think you can file a complaint with paypal and get your money back at least ... but the TB you may never get back.

EDIT::

He may not have left, he may have been removed because of some of this shit he was doing.. Sure try to contact him whatever way you can.. if things still dont look good, then go through paypal.
