I searched and found generalities and a bunch of other info but not my specific question:
I'd like to switch to the 99+ intake on my '98, are there any issues or is this simply a bolt on swap? I ask because I know at some point within a couple years, the A/C was moved to the other side of the motor. I want to make sure I don't run into any issues with brackets/bosses. Thanks for your input.

Why swap? I'd like to upgrade to the 4.7 T/B and figure if I'm doing that, I might as well finally upgrade the intake as well. Otherwise, I'll have to remove my intake in order to increase the hole in the top to at least 70mm.

On my '97 Wrangler I extended the intake temp sensor wires and pulled out the 180* vacuum nipple in the side of the plenum and tapped the manifold for the 90* screw in nipple, there was also one vacuum line that needs to be extended, other than that it was in deed a direct bolt on.

Same here. Just extended the IAT sensor wires, extended the vacuum line to the FPR, and modified the vacuum line to the MAP sensor. Pretty easy swap and worth it in my view.

Sounds like the toughest part will be port-matching and boring the mouth, neither of which are too tough. Thanks for the replies!
