Hey Guys,
How's everybody doing?
In the Texaco Car of the Decades Contest:
Somehow, the old Mustang gained 700! points today and has taken the
lead from the Dodge, and Anna Beth's Pacer is 3rd.
If all 2200 stroker members voted for her car, she'd win for sure! That
could be as much as 22,000 points! That would flip them out!
Their rules state only one vote per person! They are gonna check!
Anyway, it sure would be nice for a car that has been ridiculed for so
long to finally win something, wouldn't it?

Thanks for everyone's help!

Please Vote for Anna Beth's Stroker-Powered Pacer X
Hey Guys,
Sorry if you've read this already on the old Yahoo threads. If you have already voted, thank you for taking the time!
The Texaco Car of the Decades contest has begun.
The winner of each decade is supposed to best represent the cars of that period.
The Pacer was Richard Teague's designed desire for the 'daily-driver' to evolve into a safer, more practical, economical, and functional vehicle.
The Pacer best represents the '70's; it's definitely not a left-over from the sixties.
Anna Beth entered her Purple Pacer X into the contest. Please vote for her car!

Texaco sends no spam, so no worries.
Thank you!

Don't let Harrell's tiny post cost dissuade you from voting.
He's been a great resource on the Yahoo list for years.
That and the Pacer is 1000 times better than any old 70's Cheeby Genero or Dustang.

Please keep the votes coming for the Stroker-Powered Pacer
Hey Guys! Thanks for your votes!
The Dodge is getting a bunch of votes tonight and is closing the gap! He is only 9 votes behind the Mopacer.
There are over 800 strokers, which could be 8000 points for the MoPacer.
Please keep voting ! The contest ends October 12th at 7pmEST.
The MoPacer wouldn't have a Jeep stroker engine if it wasn't for this group!
Thanks for all of your help!

Re: Ford and Dodge are beating up on the Stroker-Powered Pacer
Bad news guys,
She was in first place, but the Texaco Team apparently decided that some votes for the Pacer were not valid. Somehow they think that their one vote per person rule was broken, so they threw out those votes, which cost her 1300 points! Then they posted a vague explanation on her car's page!
Through ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity and spirit of the Contest, we have identified and addressed certain irregularities that may have affected vehicle rankings. Your Texaco team will continue to monitor the voting process and will take the necessary steps to help ensure that the Contest rules are followed.
Anna Beth is so embarrassed.
They should verify the voting BEFORE posting the points. Contrary to what their explanation, withdrawing someone's points only hurts the validity of the contest.
So, if you would like to vote for her, please vote, but only once! Voting ends 10-12-09 at 7 PM EST.
And maybe post a few comments to make the Texaco team statement go off of the page.
There are about 800 of us, so if everyone gave her a 10, that would give her a huge boost!
Thanks again for all of your help with the Stroker-Powered Pacer.
Sincerely,
Harrel

Re: Ford and Dodge are beating up on the Stroker-Powered Pacer
Voting for a car in each of the decades was OK, right?
edit: I would've voted for that Datsun Z for sure if I wasn't about pushin the strokers. That car is bad@$$!
