are you shooting for that CR or is this an estimate? why not try for closer to stock? the reason i ask is that when i build my stroker i dont want to have to run premium.

It's an estimate that I have found doing research. I will measure it all during mock-up and if It's too high I'll run a bigger cam with more duration to reduce cylinder pressures.

what octane do you anticipate running with that setup?

I'll get it to run on 87 octaine. I'll go big on the cam if I have to, worst case I would add meth/water injection at a 50/50 mix during heavy loads..

will going big on the cam hurt low end torque?

It is going into a '89 with 5.13 gears and 35" tires. My AW-4's stall is high enough that the it may have less torque then a high torque cam, but will match a stock 4.0's output if not have more. I want it to pull hard in the mid rpm to redline. My build will be more like a prerunner/JeepSpeed type rig.

that sounds like a cool setup. most guys who build these motors are looking for massive low end. nice to see you looking for HP. is this going in a daily driver?

It will be a DD sometimes. I'm thinking of doing a 18" travel front suspension and a 28" travel rear suspension.

It's getting a HP D44 and a 9" for axles. Need HP to go fast.

How much are your pistons? I still have yet to decide if I'm gonna use the 4.2 rods that I have with stock(if bores are good) or .030" over pistons or the 4.0 rods and the KBs(if they make them). I'm also not sure about the big valves as apparently there are shrouding issues(have you already had them done?). Other than that, I plan on using the Mopar 30 cam, .043 HG, with a close to zero deck height, and have high compression ratio. I plan on having to use premium fuel.

Sorry about not repling I have been to busy dealing with doctors about my heart and a pinched nerve in my neck.
I haven't had time to do anything to my strocker project.

That's similar to my build--I'm gonna deck the block .025", which leaves the piston .0045" below deck, so almost a zero deck. I will be using the slightly bigger 30ab cam. I will use the 4-weight crank. My head is ported, but am not using bigger valves. The pistons I will use have a 21.7cc dish. SCR will be ~9.7:1, DCR~8.2-3:1, and I plan on using premium gas.
