Just questioning this 4.7L receipe

3.935 bore
3.895 stroke
.000 deck clearance
.043 head gasket thickness
25cc piston disk
6.123 rods
96 Oem cam advanced 4*, 1.7 roller rockers.

I get 9.2 Static & 8.1 dynamic for compression. My question comes in because I'm 2nd guessing doing the smaller stroker vs this bigger stroker..
But will the Kb forged pistons hold a 25cc dish?

AFAIK, the crowns of the KB pistons aren't thick enough to allow the dish to be enlarged to 25cc.

So my only option would be short rod with 2229 silvolites right?

Nope. You could still use the KB944s with 4.0L rods and try to gain a few cc by polishing up the combustion chambers instead of dishing the pistons.

Opened to 62cc then redecked the head because I accidentally went past the head gaskets edge. Still overhangs a hair but not enough to effect it. So I think I'm down to 61-ish. I think it was .008 removed.

I just decked to keep the 4.2l though. The extra cost just doesn't seem worth it for my needs, and id rather have a complete 4.2l to my wants vs 4.7l with sacrifices. i want roller rockers, dual roller timing set, this that & the other. easily 4000 with the bigger motor lol. Could always dish my pistons now to lower the comp some for a turbo 4.2l. Man how the brain wonders and how the wallet (& other half) yell in grief
I think 5-7psi is safe with just a map adjuster? I saw turbotpi running like 7psi on a stock 4.0 zj with nothing but a map adjustment and wideband..but then that's premium fuel, 1 more thing to fail on me.
