im getting frusterated trying to look thru this info on this stroker stuff. and not finding the info i need really. i need budget, and asap. i can do all work at shop i work at.

i have a 4.0 sittin here. cylinders are GREAT other than the rings are siezed to the cylinders. but there is no lip or anything. the motor in "honey badger" ('82 sx4) has #5 hole dieing more and more every 5000 miles i put on it. when i put the 4.0 head on, i couldnt beleive the bores. i have never seen a motor with so much wear and it still runs. just wontering if i could get a set of bearings for a '93 (year of my 4.0 block.) and toss in my '79 4.2 crank. im hoping to just bust the rings loose and be ok. if it will run, it wont be any worse than my 4.2 is now. this 4.0 came out of an auto jeep cherokee. will my flywheel from my 4.2 in my '82 car work with the '79 4.2 crank bolted to the '93 4.0 rods/pistons? and what about front ballancer and drive system? i want to use my 4.2 v-belt ballancer, and all v-belt drive system. can i do this? o and i noticed tonight that the 4.0 has a reverse rotaion water pump it appears. will my BRAND NEW 4.2 standard rotation water pump work on the 4.0 block?

i know, lots of questions. i need a motor that runs better than this wheesing 5.5 cyl thing im running now.

No. The 4.0L rods will put the piston about 1/4" above the deck. You can use stock or aftermarket stock style 4.0L pistons on the 4.2L rods with the 4.2L rods. If you want to use the 4.0L rods you need either the Keith Black Icon forged pistons, Bulltear forged pistons or some other custom pistons.

doubtful, but not unheard of.

Don't know about the rest of the accessories, but the balance will bolt up as you are using the 4.2L crank

pretty much. If you can press the pistons off with out damaging or distorting them.
