It's a 93 jeep xj with a 4.0 auto I would love a big choppy cam somewhere around a 480 lift. I was wondering what all u have to do to the computer to get it to idle and run right.

It depends on what else you're going to put into your stroker. The poor man's route specs the stock cam.
What's your budget and what are your goals for the stroker build?

Why would you want a big cam that might not play nice with your engine computer when your stock rev limiter is at 5200rpm? I suggest you go for a cam with an advertised duration near 260* or a 0.050" opening duration of near 205* e.g. CompCams 68-231-4 or Crane 753901. Both will give you a nice spread of torque over the normal 800-5200rpm operating range.

Idle quality should be smooth with either of the cams that I mentioned with a vacuum of ~17inHg.
You can run the stock computer and stock converter.
