Is it possible to run my original 1968 232cid atlernator and power steering brackets on a newer 4.0 block? Instead of the V8 swap I want to build a hi performance 258 or a stroked 4.0 for this poor old AMC Rebel, Power steering is something I can live wihout too, I have a close ratio manual streering box from a Sc/Rambler if I want to use it.

ive been poking around with this idea too for my spirit. but the thing ive come to see is that i think youd have to build some brackets, and then look into water pumps. v belt and serp pumps go opposite directions. in the end, i think ill just cave and keep my power steering, and the newer alternator. seems to me the newer one is controlled by the pcm. but id LOVE to use either of the big delcos i have in its place (cs series 140 amps or an si series 175 amps)
ive also looked (albeit not very hard) at putting a tensioner in place of the ps pump on the intake
