Re: my long drawn out street/strip xj build
hey thanks its a ceramic coated one I found from a vendor on ebay I forgot who but it was like 150, all the welds and piping seem like good quality but I guess I will find out later. and ya its a pain in the ass to lower I wouldn't recommend it but now that I know how I would do it again, there is a giant difference in handling between it and my girlfriends stock limited and hers has the rear sway barhonkysXJ wrote:Nice looking Xj man ,don't see many lowered ! Re: my long drawn out street/strip xj build
I have been thinking about making a fiberglass hood. Removing the top skin making a mold. The trimming the understructure and attaching it to the fiberglass that I make from the mold.

Re: my long drawn out street/strip xj build
There is a place that makes them for 350 if I remember right but it's only held on by hood pins, which I don't care. That's a lot cheaper than the cowl hood that is being sold.

Re: my long drawn out street/strip xj build
Very true but that's still allot for a light hood. $350 plus shipping I'm hoping to keep ot under $100

Re: my long drawn out street/strip xj build
Exactly. Granted you are going to drop a good bit of weight but its not worth the money spent.

Re: my long drawn out street/strip xj build
so pretty much got it done, it runs surprising great. finding it real hard not to beat on it until its broke in more. its just so easy to throw the back end around on 26" tires now

Re: my long drawn out street/strip xj build
Love the look of the Jeep inside and out. Awesome job with the build. Making me think about getting an XJ for another build just because of how nice yours looks.
Gotta get my first build done still... money and time inversely proportional...
