Rocker Arms

I'm still gathering parts and pieces for my stroker build. The valve springs/retainers/rocker arms seem to be some of the biggest challange for me to find something i like. The stock rockers are very worn, and will definitly not be getting re-used. I really want to go for a set of 1.7 ratio roller rockers, but hate to spend the extra money now as opposed to down the road. Well, i figured if i have to dump money into stock parts (rockers) i might as well go the whole 9 and get the roller rockers. I can find 1.6 versions all over the place, but am having a hard time finding 1.7's. Yella Terra makes them, but i cannot find them sold at ANY online retailer. Harland sharp only seems to make 1.6's for the 4.0 head.

My question is, would the 5/16" pedestal arms for the 5.2/5.9 magnum work on this head like the MP valve springs and retainers do? The part # is S70037, and of course thats for a set of 16, but i'm fine with having a few extra's. If someone else has used them with success, or can vouch for their success, then i'll be purchasing them soon.

EDIT: How about even the 3.9 magnum V6 version? S70047 is for a set of 12 rockers, and more nicely priced.

The Magnum V6/V8 rocker arms are too small to use on the 4.0 I6. If you really want 1.7 RR's, you can get the YT6628 units directly from Yella Terra in Australia.

I got mine from sk speed in new york. http://www.skspeed.com/. great people to deal with, very patient and helpful. I believe I talked with corey? give them a call, they had my rockers shipped to me direct from yella terra and it only took like 10-14 days.

Would someone mind schooling me on roller rockers ?

Like, pedestal vs. stud mount (pros and cons of both) ?
Adjustable vs. non adjustable ?
Pushrod length...
What mods are needed to use them... (milling pedestal, guide plates, etc)

Thanks,
kris.

I personally like the shaft mounted(Yella Terra style). They might be a little more expensive than the single style that needs push rod guide plates, but by the time you buy pushrod guide plates, studs, and machine work, they are about the same price. The shaft style is more stable than single. Also, I prefer adjustable to get the valve adjustment just right.

Out of all the different retailers i e-mailed about the 1.7 yella terras, not one single one responded to me. I found a set on ebay and picked them up for like $430 with shipping. I have them already. I'm just finishing up porting my head and then bringing everything down to the machinist to have him start doing the expensive part LOL
